Spotify Cannot Download – How to Fix It

If Spotify is not downloading songs, albums, or playlists, it could be due to account restrictions, storage issues, or connectivity problems. This guide provides step-by-step solutions to resolve the issue and enable downloads on Spotify.

Check Your Spotify Subscription

Ensure You Have Spotify Premium

  • Spotify Free does not support offline downloads.
  • Check if your Spotify Premium subscription is active:
    1. Go to Spotify Account Page.
    2. Check your subscription status under Your Plan.
    3. If expired, renew your subscription and try downloading again.

Check Internet Connection

Ensure You Are Connected to WiFi

  • Spotify only allows downloads over WiFi by default.
  • If using mobile data, enable downloads via cellular:
    1. Open Spotify > Settings.
    2. Tap Audio Quality > Download Using Cellular and enable it.

Restart Your Router

  1. Turn off your WiFi router for 30 seconds.
  2. Turn it back on and try downloading again.

Free Up Storage Space
