If your HP Envy printer is showing as “offline,” it means the computer cannot communicate with the printer. Here’s how to troubleshoot and restore connectivity.
Check Printer and Network Connection
Confirm the Printer Is On
- Make sure the printer has power and is not in sleep mode.
- Look for any error messages or blinking lights on the control panel.
Verify Wi-Fi or USB Connection
- For wireless: Ensure the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.
- For USB: Confirm the cable is securely connected to both the printer and computer.
Restart Devices
- Power cycle the printer, router, and computer to refresh the network and clear temporary glitches.
Set Printer to Online Mode
Use the Windows Control Panel
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your HP Envy printer and select See what’s printing.
- In the window that opens, click Printer > Use Printer Online (if available).
- Also ensure Pause Printing is not checked.
Clear and Reset the Print Queue
- Right-click your HP Envy printer and select See what’s printing.
- Cancel all pending print jobs.
- Restart the print spooler service:

services.msc, press Enter. - Locate Print Spooler, right-click it, and select Restart.

Set as Default Printer
- Open Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your HP Envy printer.
- Select Set as default printer.

Reinstall Printer
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.

Disable “SNMP Status Enabled”

- Uncheck SNMP Status Enabled, then click OK.

- Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor to automatically diagnose and fix connectivity issues.
