Google Pixel Does Not Connect to WiFi – How to Fix It

If your Google Pixel is not connecting to WiFi, it may be due to network settings, router issues, or software glitches. This guide provides step-by-step solutions to fix the issue and restore your connection.

Check Basic Network Settings

Ensure WiFi is Enabled

  1. Open Settings > Network & Internet.
  2. Tap Internet and ensure WiFi is turned on.
  3. Select your WiFi network and try reconnecting.

Restart Your Pixel and Router

  1. Restart your phone: Press and hold the Power button, then tap Restart.
  2. Restart the router: Unplug it from power for 30 seconds, then plug it back in.

Forget and Reconnect to the WiFi Network

Remove and Re-add the Network

  1. Open Settings > Network & Internet > Internet.
  2. Tap your WiFi network and select Forget.
  3. Reconnect by selecting the network and entering the password.

Check Router and WiFi Signal

Move Closer to the Router

  • Weak signals may prevent stable connectivity.
  • If possible, switch to a 5GHz network instead of 2.4GHz for better performance.

Ensure the Router is Not Blocking the Pixel

  • Log in to your router’s admin page and check if the Pixel is blocked under MAC filtering or parental controls.

Reset Network Settings

If the issue persists, resetting network settings can help.

Steps to Reset Network Settings

  1. Open Settings > System > Reset options.
  2. Tap Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth.
  3. Confirm and restart your phone.

Check for Software Updates

Update Your Pixel

  1. Open Settings > System > System update.
  2. Tap Check for update and install if available.

Try Safe Mode

If a third-party app is interfering with WiFi, Safe Mode can help identify the issue.

Boot into Safe Mode

  1. Press and hold the Power button.
  2. Tap and hold Power off, then select OK to enter Safe Mode.
  3. Try connecting to WiFi.
  4. If it works, restart your Pixel and uninstall recently installed apps.

Modify Advanced WiFi Settings

Disable MAC Randomization

  1. Open Settings > Network & Internet > Internet.
  2. Tap your WiFi network, then select Privacy.
  3. Choose Use device MAC instead of Randomized MAC.

Change IP Settings to Static

  1. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Internet.
  2. Tap your WiFi network and select Advanced.
  3. Change IP settings from DHCP to Static.
  4. Enter the correct IP address, Gateway, and DNS.

Contact Your Internet Service Provider

If none of the above solutions work, your ISP may be experiencing network issues. Contact them to check for outages or connectivity problems.

If the WiFi still does not connect, a factory reset or hardware inspection may be necessary.
