If your Google Pixel is not connecting to a PC, it could be due to USB settings, faulty cables, or driver issues. This guide provides step-by-step solutions to fix the problem and establish a proper connection.
Check USB Cable and Port
Use a Compatible USB Cable
- Ensure you are using a high-quality USB-C cable that supports data transfer.
- Some USB-C cables only support charging, not file transfer.

- Tap Build number seven times to enable Developer options.
- Go to Settings > System > Developer options.
- Scroll down and enable USB Debugging.
- Reconnect your Pixel to the PC.
Update or Reinstall USB Drivers on PC
If the Pixel is not recognized, outdated or missing drivers could be the cause.
Update USB Drivers (Windows)
- Connect your phone to the PC.
- Open Device Manager (Press Windows + X, then select Device Manager).
- Look for Portable Devices > Google Pixel.
- Right-click and select Update driver.

Check for Software Updates
Update Your Pixel
- Open Settings > System > System update.
- Tap Check for update and install any available updates.
Update Windows or MacOS
- Ensure your Windows or macOS is updated to the latest version.
Use a Different File Transfer Method
If the issue persists, try alternative methods:
Use Google Drive or Google Photos
- Upload files to Google Drive or Google Photos on your phone.
- Access the files from your PC.
Transfer via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi
- Use Nearby Share or Bluetooth file transfer as an alternative.
If the Google Pixel still does not connect, consider using a different computer to check if the issue is with the PC or the phone.
