Hvordan endrer du innstillingene for søppelpost i iPhones (Apple Mail/MacOS)?

If you’re an Apple iPhone or iPad user, you might be seeking a solution to stem the tide of unwanted messages inundating your inbox. Since the internet is a public space, controlling the influx and outflow of spam can be challenging. However, utilizing a filter can help block unwanted spam messages on your iPhone. In this blog post, we’ll furnish you with a thorough guide on how to halt spam emails on your iPhone. Putting an end to spam will enhance the security of your inbox.

Activate Apple’s Anti-Spam Filter on iPhones

Apple offers a built-in message anti-spam filter within its Messages app. To activate this filter, navigate to Settings => Messages and toggle the “Filter Unknown Senders” slider. Upon activation, the Messages app will present two columns:

  • Contacts & SMS
  • Unknown Senders

Messages will now be sorted accordingly, with those from contacts appearing under Contacts & SMS, and messages from unknown senders listed under the Unknown Senders column.

For each message, users have the option to block the sender’s phone number or add them to their contact list. Furthermore, the app provides the ability to report junk messages.

Enabling Junk Mail Filtering in Apple Mail

Requirements: You’ll only need a MacOS device with Apple Mail configured for at least one email account.

1. Access Apple Mail Settings

Begin by opening Apple Mail and navigating to Mail > Settings.

2. Activate Junk Mail Filtering

Within the Settings window, locate the Junk Mail tab and tick the checkbox for Enable junk mail filtering.

3. Customize Junk Mail Filtering

Consider enabling “Move it to the Junk mailbox” under “When junk mail arrives”. Additionally, it’s recommended to enable the following options:

  • Sender of message is in my Contacts.
  • Sender of message is in my Previous Recipients.
  • Message is addressed using my full name.
  • Trust junk mail headers in messages.

Enabling these options helps prevent trusted emails from being mistakenly marked as Junk.

Without these options enabled, Mail may incorrectly label trusted emails as Junk.

Why do I receive Spam Email on my iPhone?

Spam email refers to unsolicited bulk mail or junk mail. It’s common to receive spam emails without any direct involvement on your part. Your email address may be obtained through various means, such as being sold by services you’ve interacted with, publicly posting your email address, or through automated methods that guess email addresses.
