If your Samsung phone is restricted by Device Control, it may be due to security policies, remote management, or pre-installed system settings. This guide explains different ways to remove device control and regain full access to your phone.
Check If Device Control Is Enabled by a Work or School Account
If your phone is managed by an organization, you may not have full control over settings.
Arbeits- oder Schulkonto entfernen
- Gehe zu Settings > Accounts and Backup > Manage Accounts
- Wählen Sie die Arbeits- oder Schulkonto
- Tippen Sie auf . Konto entfernen und bestätigen
If the account is required by an employer, removing it may prevent access to work-related apps and emails.
Disable Device Administrator Apps
Some apps have administrator privileges, preventing certain settings from being changed.
Remove Device Admin Apps
- Gehe zu Settings > Security & Privacy > Device Admin Apps
- Look for any app with admin privileges
- Tap the app and select Deaktivieren Sie
- Uninstall the app if necessary
Remove Mobile Device Management (MDM)
MDM software can restrict settings and device functions.
Uninstall MDM via Settings
- Öffnen Sie Settings > Security & Privacy > More Security Settings
- Tippen Sie auf . Device Administrators
- Find the MDM app and disable it
- Gehe zu Einstellungen > Apps and uninstall the MDM app
If the MDM was installed by an organization, you may need an administrator password to remove it.
Reset Samsung Knox (For Enterprise Devices)
If your phone is controlled by Samsung Knox, it may restrict access to certain features.
Remove Knox Security
- Öffnen Sie Settings > Biometrics and Security > Samsung Knox
- Tippen Sie auf . Uninstall Knox
- Enter the required credentials if prompted
- Confirm removal and restart the device
If the phone was issued by an employer, this option may be restricted.
Remove Device Control from SmartThings
If your phone is linked to Samsung’s SmartThings platform, it may have remote control enabled.
Unlink from SmartThings
- Öffnen Sie die SmartThings app
- Tippen Sie auf . Devices and select the connected device
- Wählen Sie Remove Device und bestätigen
- Restart the phone to apply changes
Factory Reset to Remove Device Restrictions
If none of the above methods work, a Zurücksetzen auf die Werkseinstellungen will remove most forms of device control.
Factory Reset Using Settings
- Gehe zu Settings > General Management > Reset
- Tippen Sie auf . Werksdaten zurücksetzen
- Confirm and enter your password if required
- Wait for the reset to complete
Zurücksetzen auf die Werkseinstellungen im Wiederherstellungsmodus
- Schalten Sie das Telefon aus
- Drücken und halten Sie Volume Up + Power button + Bixby button (if available)
- Verwenden Sie Lautstärketasten zur Auswahl Daten löschen/Werksreset
- Confirm with the Einschalttaste
- Reboot the device
After resetting, Googles Werksrückstellungsschutz (FRP) may still require the original Google account credentials. If the device was managed by an organization, it may automatically reapply restrictions upon setup.
